Coronavirus and the Eucharist - We have received further information from the Archbishop regarding safe practices as we celebrate the Eucharist together. He has taken advice from the Queensland Chief Heath Officer’s department. The most important recommendation is that the practice of ‘intincting’, that is the dipping of the bread into the chalice when receiving communion, should cease as it carries a high level of risk. Take note that the church’s understanding is that receiving only the bread conveys the full benefits of Holy Communion. The Archbishop also stressed the importance of using hand sanitisers and the correct procedures by those administering the sacrament. As many of our congregation are elderly and so more at risk, he also advises that if you are feeling unwell you should stay home. Rev’d Timothy, Priest-in-charge
