Covid-19 response We are living in ‘interesting times’ as they say, with daily updates from the government on how best we can help each other stay safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our diocese is constantly monitoring the situation and giving us advice.
It is our intention in the parish to continue to meet for worship as long as it is safe to do so. This will mean further modifications to how we do things and from this week the Archbishop has directed that we will not share the common cup until further notice. As I wrote last week, be assured that to receive just the bread conveys the full benefit of the presence of Christ in the Holy Communion.
We are also seeking to ensure that we can continue to communicate with and support each other should we have to stop meeting. For those with internet connections, I will be sending out a curated list of prayer and reflection recourses (so if you have an email address and would like to receive this please email me). Updates will also be on our Facebook page.
You are also welcome to give me a call if you would like a chat.
Thankyou to Maxine McElnea and Rev’d Timothy and June for the Simnel Cake we are enjoying today to celebrate Mothering Sunday.
Parish Picnic at Laura Street Park. Today, Sunday, 22 March at 12 noon, our planned Parish Picnic will go ahead as planned, but with some important changes, given the current restrictions around personal practices, and with a focus on maintaining our health and well being. Please bring all your own food and drinks. We ask that you do not share food and drinks with others outside your household or family group. Bring your own chairs, blankets etc to sit on, and we ask you do not share these outside your household or family groups. There are toilets and taps at the park, however we suggest you bring your own soap, paper towels and hand sanitiser.
