Weekly Letter from St Luke's - 26 November 2021

Dear Parish Friends

This Sunday is a special day for St Luke's Ekibin. We welcome The Most Rev'd Dr Phillip Aspinall, Archbishop of Brisbane, to lead our service. This will include the confirmation for seven of our young people: Daniel, Isaac, Georgette, Neil, Eva, Hannah and Poppy. Please keep them all in your prayers.

There will be a single service at 9am (i.e. no 7am service). This will also be streamed over Zoom, and you can find the order of service, together with the week's notice paper, via the links below.

If you are coming, please bring a plate of food to share at the celebration morning tea after the service in the Upper Hall.

Advent Sunday marks the first day of the new church year as we enter a season of expectation and preparation, as the Church prepares to celebrate the coming (adventus) of Christ in his incarnation, and also looks ahead to his final advent at the end of time. We light the first candle on our Advent Crown, recalling the patriarchs who testified to the coming of the light, and remember that we too are called to do the same.
