Weekly letter from St Luke's - 10 July 2021
Dear Parish Friends
We welcome this Sunday the Rt Rev'd John Roundhill, Bishop of the Southern Region, as our celebrant and preacher at both our services. The 9am service will, as always, be streamed over Zoom. The service sheet for this, and our weekly Notice Paper, are available at the links below (if you cannot see the links then you may need to 'download pictures' in your mail browser).
Children's ministry also restarts this week for Term 3, with Kate and Tim Vassella leading.
For those who were unable to attend Hazel Park's funeral service yesterday, a link to the recording is available at https://notes.stlukesekibin.org.au/funerals/HazelPark/.
Our Old Testament reading this weekend from 2 Samuel describes David bringing the Ark of the Covenant to the city, and dancing 'before the Lord with all his might'! We are reminded that we can, and should, break out in joy as we come to worship, in whatever way we see fit (dancing optional). Even though we still need to wear masks in church this weekend, we can still sing out. The words of our Psalm are particularly apt:
Lift up your heads, O you gates, and be lifted up, you everlasting doors: and the King of glory shall come in.
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
