Weekly letter from St Luke's - 30 October 2026
All Saints Day is an opportunity for us to remember all the people of God, both those alive and those who are part of the great multitude of heaven. As St Paul tells us, everyone who is a follower of Jesus is a Saint - not just those who get a specific day in the liturgical calendar named for them (although we all do get this - that is what All Saints Day is about). We are all the holy people of God, and our gospel passage from Matthew, the Beatitudes, name both the virtues and the rewards of being so.
Our morning services are as usual at 7am and 9am. The 9am service includes Children's Church and Zoom streaming. The week's notice paper and 9am service sheet are linked on the buttons below. At the 9am service we will also welcome Henry Schmith who comes for baptism, together with his parents Elspeth and Reece and other family.
Then on Sunday evening, we will remember All Souls Day with a service of Evening Prayer at which we will read out the names of those who have died who have been particularly important in our own lives. If you would like a name included, there is a list at the back of church, or send it in reply to this email.
With blessings,
Rev'd Timothy
