Weekly letter from St Luke's - 15 July 2022

Dear Parish Friends We’re continuing to come upon familiar passages as we read through the the gospel of Luke. This week it is the story of Mary and Martha, friends of Jesus. You may recall that Martha is rushed off her feet preparing food, whilst Mary just sits at Jesus' feet listening to him. However rather than asking us to choose between contemplation or activity (with the implicit assumption that the former is the higher calling), we are reminded that both are necessary. It is from a basis of communion with God, that we are sent out to proclaim the gospel in word and action. Our services on Sunday are at 7am and 9am as usual. Zoom streaming will be included at 9am and the weeks’ notice paper and service sheet for the 9am service are available via the links below. After the service there will be an opportunity to complete the NCLS Church Life Survey. More details about this are on page 2 of the Notice paper. A link to complete the survey online will be sent on Sunday. Don't forget the Family Pizza in the Park tomorrow afternoon - 3pm at Laura Street Park; look out for the St Luke's banner. Yours in Christ Rev'd Timothy
