Weekly letter from St Luke's - 15 September 2023

Dear Parish Friends We continue our celebration of the 'season of creation' this week with 'Wilderness Sunday'. Wilderness is not just a wild uninhabited place. It is a place which can be unknown, chaotic, even threatening, but often wondrous. In the biblical tradition it is also a place in which God particularly meets with God's people, free from other distractions, and where they are transformed. It may not even be a place; there are 'wilderness times' in our life which, even though at first sight seem devoid of life, are times when God's life-giving presence comes to us. Our services this weekend are 7am (Holy Communion) and 9am (family service with communion - also streamed on Zoom).
