Weekly letter from St Luke's - 11 September 2026

Our Old Testament reading this week is the crossing of the Red Sea during the Exodus. This is a seminal part of the story of the Hebrew people, and the language used is reminiscent of that used to describe creation in the Genesis stories. This is a story that really brings the people of God together as a New Creation. It is not surprising therefore that the image of a New Creation is used by the New Testament authors to describe those who follow the risen Jesus.

Our services this Sunday are at the usual times of 7am and 9am, the latter with Children's Church and Zoom streaming. The week's notice paper and 9am service sheet are linked on "This week" in the menu.

The Moys will be taking a delivery to Inala Careforce on Monday 14th September. Inala are wanting donations of lifelong milk, tins of food (not baked beans) and cash donations before the September school holidays. Please ensure all donations are received no later than this Sunday 13th September.

Saturday is your last chance to see St Luke's Theatre Society's current production, "An Ideal Husband". Shows at 2pm and 7.30pm. Tickets available online at www.stlukestheatre.asn.au, or on the door.

With blessings,

Rev'd Timothy
