Weekly letter from St Luke's - 2 April 2026

We now come to the high point of the church's liturgical year.

Today is Maundy Thursday and this evening there will be a service, including Holy Communion, at 7.30pm in church.

Tomorrow is Good Friday. There will be a family service at 10am, where we will, in words and actions, remember the Holy Week story. Then at 2pm there will be a service of prayer and music as we reflect at the foot of the cross. Both these services will be in church, with the 2pm service also streamed over Zoom.

Then on Saturday evening we will keep the Easter Vigil in readings and prayers recounting God's good purposes from the beginning to reconcile humanity to Gods-self and of how that was made perfect in the resurrection of Jesus. This service will be on Zoom only. The order of service is available here.

Then Sunday is Easter Day. Our first service will be at 6.30am (note the earlier time) where we will light the Easter fire and from this the Paschal Candle. As part of the service we will renew our Baptism vows.

This will be followed by our traditional Resurrection Breakfast from about 8am. Our Family Communion service is at 9am which will als be streamed over Zoom. The Easter Day 9am service sheet and the week's notice paper are available by the links below.

With my blessings as we together walk with Jesus through these holy days.

Rev'd Timothy
