Dear Parish Friends

This Sunday is Advent Sunday, and the start of a new church year, so our gospel readings switch from Luke to Matthew. Advent means 'coming' and so this season is a time for reflecting on both Jesus' first coming in the incarnation, and his promised second coming at the end of time. Our readings this week particularly relate to the latter of these and ask us to question how we live in these in between times, when we have the assurance of the cumulation of Kingdom, but still live in a broken world.

As this Sunday is a fifth Sunday in the month. the 9am service will be a special intergenerational family service with our children helping to lead the service and including interactive activities for all ages. There will also be the usual 7am service of Holy Communion. The notice paper and the 9am service sheet are available via the links below. Our 9am service will be streamed on Zoom.

Don’t forget that the first St Luke's Theatre play back on our campus, Sense and Sensibility, continues this weekend - Friday at 7.30pm and Saturday 2pm and 7.30pmtonight (Friday). Because of the delay in obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy for our new hall, the performance will be in the church. Book now!

Yours in Christ

Rev'd Timothy
