Weekly letter from St Luke's - 9 September 2022
Dear Parish Friends
Just to let you know that we will be making some changes to our services on Sunday to include prayers giving thanks for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. We will also sing one of her favourite hymns, 'Praise my soul the king of heaven'. An updated order of service for the 9am service is available via the link below.
St John's Cathedral is holding a Solemn Choral Eucharist at 6pm today, to give thanks for the life, work and witness of Her Majesty. This can be viewed via the link on the home page of the cathedral website (www.stjohnscathedral.com.au). In light of this, we will not say Evening Prayer on Zoom today.
Bishop Cam offered this prayer in his letter to clergy today:
O God, the maker and redeemer of all humankind, grant us, with thy servant QUEEN ELIZABETH and all the faithful departed, the sure benefits of thy Son’s saving passion and glorious resurrection; that in the last day, when all things are gathered up in Christ, we may with them enjoy the fullness of thy promises; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one
God, world without end. Amen.
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
