Weekly letter from St Luke's - 7th June 2024
Dear Parish Friends
This Sunday there is a lot on at St Luke's! Our services on Sunday are at the usual times of 7am and 9am, with the 9am services also be streamed on Zoom. The 9am service will follow the usual format (it will still be a communion service), but our children will be involved in welcoming, leading singing, reading and leading prayers. There will be activities for the children during the sermon.
We will reflect on the reading set from 2 Corinthians where we are reminded of the promise of 'a heavenly tent', not in a sense that we should just bear what our current 'earthly tent' brings us, but in that this brings God’s dearly beloved people hope for the future and helps shape our response to the troubles that we see nearly everywhere.
The 9am service sheet and the week's Notice Paper are available via the links below.
Then in the afternoon, come back for the 'Big Hymn Sing'. An initiative of the Royal School of Church Music for Music Sunday, this is an opportunity to join with members of other local churches to sing some well known hymns. Bring something to share for afternoon tea following the sing.
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
