Weekly letter from St Luke's - 1 September 2023
Dear Parish Friends I am back in the parish today after my annual leave which was largely spent in Scotland, including a week in Iona Abbey. I thank Rev'd Denis and the wardens for looking after the parish for these last few weeks. This weekend we start the celebration of the season of creation with 'Forest Sunday', and our readings link the themes of creation (from Genesis), recreation (from John), and how are are all interconnected to each other and the world around. Our services this weekend are 7am (Holy Communion) and 9am (family service with communion - also streamed on Zoom). The weekly notice paper, 9am service sheet, and 'Taking faith home' leaflet are available via the links below. Please support the St Luke's Theatre Society production of Macbeth, with ongoing performances this weekend and next (Friday and Saturday evenings and Saturday afternoon matinees). It's sure to be good. STOP PRESS: It has today been announced that the next Archbishop of Brisbane will be Jeremy Greaves, who is currently the Bishop of the Northern Region in our diocese. Yours in Christ Rev'd Timothy
