Dear Parish Friends
This Sunday is the fifth Sunday of Easter, but our reading from the gospel of John comes from Maundy Thursday. Judas has just left to betray Jesus. So Jesus tells the remaining disciples about how it will be 'after', so this is an appropriate reading for this season 'after' the events of Good Friday ad Easter Day. We are, of course, with the disciples in this 'after' time, when we have an new commandment (to love one another as Jesus loves us, John 13:34), or as some translations put it, 'I am giving you a new road to walk… In the same way I have loved you, you are to love each other." This is where we are, and what we are called to do today.
Services are at 7am and 9am (also on Zoom), where the preacher will be Juliet Briner. Children's Church continues for term two during the 9am service. The service sheet for the 9am service and the week's Notice Paper are available via the links under menu item, "This week" .
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
