Dear Parish Friends
Christmas is only days away, and the gospel passage from Matthew finally starts some of the narrative of the nativity. But we are still in Advent, and still focused on the question of what the coming of Jesus, for which we are waiting, means. Matthew sees in the birth of Jesus the fulfilment of a prophecy of Isaiah, where an unborn child would bring the promise of hope for future generations. And indeed in the rest of his gospel, Matthew expounds on how Jesus indeed brought God's truth and gifts in a new and special way, as indeed God, through the Holy Spirit, continues to do for us today.
Services on Sunday are as usual at 7am and 9am, with Zoom streaming at 9am. Children's Church is in recess, but there will still be a children's message at the 9am service. The weekly notice paper and 9am service sheet are available via the links below.
Then don't forget our Christmas services next week:
Christmas Eve. 5pm Family service with communion.
Christmas Eve. 11pm Holy Communion by candlelight.
Christmas Day. 9am Family Communion.
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
