Dear Parish Friends
In our gospel passage, Jesus once again addresses questions arising from why bad things happen. Understanding at that time was that such events were the result of the sin of those affected, but Jesus emphatically says no to this. The events he mentions are the result of the oppressive regime of the Romans, or of natural disasters. Jesus though emphasises the need to repent, to turn back to God, in preparation for what will come, and the assurance that, by God's grace, we will be given ample opportunity to do so.
Our services are as usual at 7am and 9am, with Zoom streaming at 9am. Children's Church is also on. The weekly notice paper and 9am service sheet are available at the links below.
As I foreshadowed last week, the delays to the redevelopment project have meant that services to celebrate the opening have had to be rescheduled. Please put in your diaries Sunday 1st June at 4pm for a service with Bishop John to open the new Memorial garden, and Sunday 20th July at 3pm for a celebration of the completion of our project and our 100th anniversary with Archbishop Jeremy.
Regards
Rev'd Timothy
