Weekly letter from St Luke's - 23 May 2025

Dear Parish Friends

We are still in Easter season this week, celebrating the sixth Sunday of Easter. The readings all draw us to an understanding that the Easter event was world-changing. It was the start of something new. Thus we read from Acts 16, for a glimpse of the spread of the early church, and of how inclusive this was. Then from Revelation 21, John's vision of "the river of the water of life," a beautiful description of God's ultimate purposes. Finally from John 14, part of Jesus' message to his disciples before Easter, we have the promise of how all this will come about through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
