Weekly letter from St Luke's - 25 February 2022

Dear Parish Friends

This Sunday is the last Sunday after Epiphany and is one of the two days in the year that the Feast of the Transfiguration can be celebrated (the other being 6th August). I think this is a very appropriate place, as the theme for the whole season of Epiphany is 'revelation'; who Jesus is and how he fulfills God's plan for the redemption of all creation. In our gospel passage we hear, with Peter, John and James, the voice saying "This is my Son, my chosen; listen to him", and note that Jesus was talking to Moses and Elijah about his “departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem”.

The notice paper for this weekend is available via the link below, as is the service sheet for the 9am service which will be streamed via Zoom for those unable to join us in person.

Places at next Tuesday's pancake dinner are filling fast. Book now at https://st-lukes-pancake-dinner.eventbrite.com.au (or phone the Parish Office).

A reminder too that bookings are now open for St Luke's Theatre Society's first play of the year: Shakespeare's 'Much ado about nothing', but with an Australian flavour.See http://stlukestheatre.asn.au/ or call 0490 371 885.

Yours in Christ

Rev'd Timothy
