Dear Parish Friends
This Sunday is the final week of the season of creation, and our attention is turned to 'Cosmos Sunday'. The definition of cosmos is 'the universe regarded as an orderly harmonious whole', and so we reflect on the fact that at every scale from the sub-atomic to the whole universe there is structure and relationship. And then we note that when we read in John 3:16 that "God so loved the world that he sent his son", the word translated as 'world' is actually 'cosmos'. This powerful saying becomes even more powerful.
Our services are as usual at 7am and 9am, with Zoom streaming at 9am. Children's Church is in recess for the School Holidays, but do note that children are always welcome at St Luke's and there will be a children's talk at the start of the 9am service. The service sheet for the 9am service and the week's Notice Paper are available via the links below.
This Sunday we also say farewell to our ministry student Juliet Briner who is moving on to the next phase of her training to become an Anglican priest. She will be with us for both services. Please bring some food to share for morning tea after each service.
Finally, there a reminder of the working bee on Saturday morning in the hall. We aim to clean the chairs that have been in storage and to make a start on sorting out the boxes. All welcome!
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
