Dear Parish Friends Our gospel passage this week from Luke 14 centres on an important aspect of being the church, that of welcoming. Why should we be welcoming? How should we be welcoming? It comes down to following the way in which Jesus welcomes all to share in the banquet of the Lord. As this Sunday is the fifth Sunday of the month we will be holding a special intergenerational family service at 9am. Our children will help lead the service and there will be the opportunity for all, young and old, to participate in the activities. Please come and support this service as we worship together as a whole church. This service will include communion and be streamed over Zoom. There will still be a 7am service of Holy Communion in the usual format. The service sheet for the 9am service and the week's Notice Paper are available via the links under This week in the website menu.. The September edition of 'Church News' is almost ready and will be posted to our website this weekend. Finally, we have been invited to hold a stall at the Annerley Junction Fest on Saturday 11th October. This would be a great opportunity to promote our parish facilities and advertise Little Angels and the Theatre Society, as well as perhaps some fundraising, so it would be great if we were able to take up this offer. If you would be available to help in any way (before or on the day), then please let me or a warden know. Yours in Christ Rev'd Timothy |
