Weekly letter from St Luke's - 6 April 2024

Dear Parish Friends

Liturgically this Sunday is the second Sunday of Easter. We continue celebrating the festival! And our gospel passage set continues from where we left off last week with the disciples huddling behind locked doors on the evening of the day of Resurrection. One wonders why they did not believe the message that Mary had brought to them of her encounter with the risen Christ. They needed their own experience of him to understand. As the story unfolds we also hear of Thomas, who was absent that evening, and he too did not believe on the testimony of the others, and needed his own experience. This poses the question for us as to what brought us to faith? The power of testimony is attested to throughout Christian history, but is more needed?

Our services are back to the usual times of 7am and 9am, with the 9am services also be streamed on Zoom. The 9am service sheet and the week's Notice Paper are available via the links below.

Yours in Christ

Rev'd Timothy
