Weekly letter from St Luke's - 8 December 2023
Dear Parish Friends'Prepare the way of the Lord!' This is the cry of the prophet Isaiah, speaking to the Israelites in exile in Babylon as a reminder that, despite all appearances to the contrary, they were still God's people, and this was a time to prepare, to get ready for the end of their exile. Mark, in the opening verses of his gospel, quotes from this text, for a people similarly feeling in exile, living under Roman occupation. The message is the same: prepare, for God is going to do great things, believe in this, and act accordingly. Our services are at 7am and 9am as usual, with children's church and Zoom streaming at 9am. The week's notice paper and 9am service sheet are available via the links below. This Sunday afternoon will also be our annual carol service, and much more.
