Weekly letter from St Luke's - 12 January 2024
Dear Parish Friends
Still in the season of Epiphany we move to the start of Jesus' ministry, and his calling of his followers. Our gospel reading, from the gospel of John, tells of Nathanael. He is introduced to Jesus by his friend Philip but is at first sceptical, However when he meets Jesus, there is something about him that causes Nathanael to understand who Jesus is; "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" he exclaims. This is Epiphany.
Sunday morning's services are as usual at 7am (Holy Communion) and 9am (Family Communion with Zoom streaming). The notice paper and 9am service sheet are available via the links below.
Then at 5pm there will be a service of Evening Prayer at St Luke's to mark the closure of the Memorial Garden in preparation for our redevelopment.
Don't forget too the working bee on Saturday morning (8am-12) to make a start on clearing out the lower hall. All welcome.
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
