I am sending this email out early this week to remind you that today is Ascension Day and there will be a service at St Luke's (also streamed on Zoom) at 6.30pm today. This will replace the usual service of Evening Prayer on Zoom.
Our psalm this evening is Psalm 97, which includes the verses:
God has gone up with a shout,
the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.

Dear Parish Friends Amongst our readings this weekend is another great psalm: May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known upon earth, your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.(Psalm 67:1-3) We are reminded that we are inheritors of these great promises, both that God will bless us, and that the knowledge of God will spread. Because of the excessive rain, our parish camp this weekend was cancelled. Therefore services will be as usual tomorrow, with children's ministry as part of the 9am service. Dear Parish Friends This Sunday, the fourth Sunday of Easter, is often known as 'Good Shepherd Sunday', as the psalm set is Psalm 23 and the gospel reading from John, includes Jesus' promise: "My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish." Jesus is therefore drawing on the Old Testament image of God as the shepherd who watches over his people, but expanding the promise to ALL who hear his voice. Our services on
