Weekly Letter from St Luke's - 8th September 2023
Dear Parish Friends
We continue our celebration of the 'season of creation' this week with 'Land Sunday'. Our readings speak of the intimate connection between humanity and the land on which they live - their relationships with it for good or for bad. We also see again, through the words of Psalm 139, that it is through the land (that is the creation) that God can be known. Whist for some peoples this relationship is fundamental to their spirituality, it shapes all of us and should therefore lead to a respect for the world around us.
Our services this weekend are 7am (Holy Communion) and 9am (family service with communion - also streamed on Zoom). The weekly notice paper, 9am service sheet, and 'Taking faith home' leaflet are available via the links below.
Please support the St Luke's Theatre Society production of Macbeth. Their final performances are this weekend (Friday and Saturday evenings and Saturday afternoon matinees). I have heard that it is excellent - I'm going on closing night.
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Timothy
