Service online only this Sunday 10th January

Given the news that that Brisbane is in lock down for three days from 6pm Friday 8th January, we will not be able to meet together at St Luke’s for worship on Sunday 10th. But, as we did for several months last year we can meet virtually by Zoom. There will therefore be a service on Zoom at 9am on Sunday and you are all invited to join in. The service sheet is available here.

I found this prayer, written by Bishop Rodolfo Valenzuela Núñez in Guatemala which I would encourage you to pray with me:

Dear Lord,

At this time of pandemic,

Let us foster respect and solidarity with others, especially those who are weak or poor.

Let us remain calm and ignore unsubstantiated rumours.

Let us take advantage of living together as a family.

Let us attend to moments of prayer.

Let us cultivate responsibility, patience and hope.

Amen.

Our prayers are with the Queensland government and medical authorities for the difficult decisions they need to take, and with those parts of the world, notably the UK, where the pandemic situation is far worse than it is here in Australia.

Yours in Christ

Rev’d Timothy
