Weekly letter from St Luke's - 12 November 2021

Dear Parish Friends

This Sunday our reading from Mark's gospel is part of what is known as 'the little apocalypse'. Jesus talks about 'wars and rumours of wars', and that 'nation will rise up against nation'. It all sounds grim, but we are reminded that despite all this we can be confident in God that there will be an end in which God's reign will come. This doesn't take away from our present trials, but it does put it in context. As we also keep Remembrance Sunday, the same message prevails of acknowledging the horrors of what has happened, but still looking forward with hope.
