Weekly letter from St Luke's - 5 January 2024
Dear Parish Friends
Just last week we remembered the visit of the magi to the infant Jesus, and this week we jump forward to the start of Jesus' ministry as he comes to the river Jordan and is baptised by John. But we are still in the season of Epiphany, where we read the gospel writer's accounts of the ways in which Jesus was revealed to the nations. With his baptism, comes the affirmation from the Father and the Spirit that Jesus is God's Son, the beloved, and all that that will mean.
We return to our usual Sunday format tomorrow, with services at 7am (Holy Communion) and 9am (Family Communion with Zoom streaming). The notice paper and 9am service sheet are available via the links below.
