Weekly letter from St Luke's - 17 June 2022

Dear Parish Friends The season of Easter is over and the liturgical colour is green, and will be so with only a few exceptions until the end of November. We are in 'ordinary time' as the lectionary puts it. This doesn't mean that the time is unimportant, 'ordinary' in this context refers to the fact that the Sundays are numbered; from the Latin word ordinalis, which refers to numbers in a series. So we begin systematically working our way through the gospel of Luke, remembering Jesus' ministry of teaching and of demonstrating God's power and love. Not an 'ordinary' message in any sense, but an extraordinary message that still has the power to transform us and the world today. Our services are at 7am and 9am as usual. Children's ministry and Zoom streaming will be included at 9am and the week's notice paper and service sheet for the 9am service are available via the links below. Don't forget that St Luke's Theatre Society's continues tonight. Details and booking at stlukestheatre.asn.au Yours in Christ Rev'd Timothy
